That turned out well.  One thing I take from the video is that at the transactional level the information forwarding is item-by-item (post by post, article by article) so that when a  writer whose work is of variable, or even low, interest posts a blockbuster, it can potentially get wide circulation.

I am unsure what necessary role blogger statistical history or certification has in this dynamic

Looks to me that the work of the invariably dopey will be contained--by the normal course of operations even if their connections are not severed by exasperated recipients.
